We're taking data privacy very seriously. You should know, which data are being saved when and how we process personal data. We follow the rules of the Federal German Data Privacy Law (BDSG) and those of the Media-Services Treaty (MdStV). We have established technical and logistical measures to ensure that our work is in accordance with the Privacy Clause.
Saving and using personal data
Personal data are defined as information that can potentially be used to learn more about your identity, such as your name or your address. Information, that is not directly associated with your identity, such as favoured websites or user statistics of a website, are not considered as personal data. In general, you can use our website without disclosure of your identity. When using our contact-form or subscribing for the Newsletter, you'll be asked for your name and email-address. It is up to you, if you'll provide this information or not.
We offer a special service for members of the Society for Paediatric Oncology/Haematology (GPOH), documentalists and chairs of clinical trials by providing them with password-access to certain internal documents and other areas of this website. The password-management is carried out in adjustment with the official database of the GPOH, in which personal data and passwords of registered member are already (anonymously) saved. The editors of www.kinderkrebsinfo.de also use the GPOH-database in order to occasionally establish a contact between users and GPOH-members.
We save your information on highly protected servers in Germany, access to which is provided only for a few, specifically certified individuals who are dealing with the technical, mercantile or editorial aspects of the servers. Along with your use (page hit) of the website, our servers are saving data for technical and security purposes, that, under certain circumstances, may enable your identification (for example IP-address, date, time, which pages were hit). Also, while participating in the Internal Forum, a GPOH member's name will be visible for the other participants. However, there won't be any analysis of any of these individual data.
